    Adding a Controller

    To add a Controller to the system, proceed as follows:
     

    1. When the Browse Hardware window is displayed, click Add button and select Controller. The Update Controller Information window will then be displayed.

    1. Select the General settings option.
    2. Type in the unique Controller Address Code and the Description of the Controller that will be used to identify it.

      Note: The Address Code will be displayed on the device’s LCD for a short duration when the Controller is powered up.
       
    3. Only if device information has been selected to be collected at multiple PC’s (Configuration Module / System Setup / Features then select the Hardware tab – Multiple Comm’s Modules Running option) will the Collect Machine select option be available. Use the Here button if the information is to be collected by the local machine or if it is to be collected by another machine, type in the path for that machine.
    4. Selecting the Disable box will disable the particular Controller. A disabled controller will be shown on the Browse Hardware window with a red cross through the Controller Icon.
    5. Select the Connection settings option.

    1. If the Controller is connected via a Comm’s port to the computer, type in which particular Comm’s port to be used.
    2. If the Controller is connected via TCP/IP (only if using NetPort), 
    1. Type in which particular Comm’s port on the remote computer that is used to connect to the device.
    2. Type in the IP address and Port number of the computer or device to which the controller is connected.
    3. If the connection is to use NetPort, select the IP connection via NetPort check box to be active (shows a tick mark). For more information on TCP/IP connections using NetPort, refer to Appendix F.
    1. Once all the required information and settings have been captured for the particular Controller, select the Ok button to add the Controller to the list.

    Changing Controller Information

    To change the information or settings of an existing Controller, proceed as follows:

    1. When the Bowse Hardware window is displayed, select the Controller to be changed and then click on the Change button. The Update Controller Information window will then be displayed.
    2. Make the necessary changes and then select the Ok button to save the changes.

    Removing a Controller

    To remove an existing Controller, proceed as follows:

    1. When the Browse Hardware window is displayed, select the Controller to be removed and then click on the Remove button.
    2. When the delete confirmation window is displayed select the Yes button to remove the selected Controller from the list.


    IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE: When removing a Controller, the information for all system clocks that are connected to that Controller will also be removed.
